Eighteen years in business and sixty-one years of life have taught me that much of what is important is overshadowed by what keeps us up at night. Everyone is flawed, carrying around their own insecurities and fears everyday. The courage to forge ahead is what matters. Our company is the presenting sponsor for the Apex Chamber's women’s forum tomorrow, titled Empower Your Inner Rockstar.

Empowerment is less about power and more about moving around obstacles; whether their roadblocks you've created or those placed in your path. I find my mind drawn to women that despite struggles in their personal life never waivered from their core. That type of strengthen makes them a rockstar.

Individuals can struggle with personal grief, addiction or anxieties; yet persevere and remain resolute. Standing up for yourself and inserting your voice, even when unpopular, is also the hallmark of many legendary women in business.
