  • Take PRIDE In Your Story.

June spotlights a month long focus on Pride Month, however diversity, equity and inclusion goals require a year-round effort to create change. When did Pride month begin? Take a look at the roots in this previous blog post. Pride month is associated with vibrant colors, but most DEI initiatives & councils weave in colors that represent the culture or heritage of the group. Visual stories capture attention. Color is a powerful tool. We love using our graphic knowledge & certified knowledge to create new ways to express your message. There is no one strategy that works, however here are some of our favorites: Low cost items that are easy wearables year round include these products . Similarly stickers and temporary tattoos are simple to place in numerous high profile locations to drive attention to your message or unite! Utilizing flags as a way to demonstrate your message through both symbols and colors. Incorporating products that reflect the values you wish to convey is like an adding an exclamation point into your promotional campaign. Take a look at these stat's: Businesses continue to align their core values with inclusion, making sure voices are heard, seen and recognized, as well as included at the table. If all the seats at the table are filled by individuals with only one mindset, age or gender the perspective never changes. Robust discussions include perspectives not previously considered and advance a change in mindset, leading to more inclusive spaces. There are so many products that create a blank canvas for adding colorful graphics! Our showroom is the ideal location to explore all of the choices & learn how our expertise with marketing & graphic design will help you gain momentum for what you'd like to say! Including your business, non-profit and elected officials at local events, provides a way for the public to learn more about how you are part of DEI initiatives. Look for ways to engage in your community. Promoting the ways your business is incorporating diverse voices can be as simple as highlighting products or services you offer in your business at local events, like our friends at Alleyway Bookstore, who was at Saturday's Juneteenth Festival highlighting some of their authors. When you're ready to craft a DEI campaign that reflects your company's values- let's collaborate.

  • The Value In Planning Ahead

Never underestimate the value in a good list. The satisfaction of crossing off the completed tasks produces a sense of satisfaction. We procrastinate when we are not interested in a project, then we justify our procrastination! At work the "to do list" is lengthy. A planner can help you keep on task. Typically your choices for planners are pre-dated by year & month- forcing you to not fully utilize the journal for your purposes. • Is The Moment Before, During or After Most Impactful?

Depends on what you are measuring. Without life experiences, we would not be- well, ourselves. Where we've been, leads us to where we are now and influences where we will decide to go later. I'm posing on the front porch, wearing a dress my mom made me for the 100 celebration of Cary. By "decree" of the town council, men grew beards and residents wore "period" clothing to pay tribute to our roots. My dad is sporting a sparse goatee, which took him way to long to grow. Some would say the picture to the left is better, because I'm looking right at the camera, smiling. I like the picture below. The image to the right captures my curious side. I've always had a thirst to discover. Father's Day is an appropriate time to reflect on my own roots. Thanks to my dad: I like to learn. I'm a planner & organizer. I'm okay in a crowd or alone. Choosing solitude is different than being lonely. Being curious leads to creative solutions. Observation helps shape logic. Forging your own path is normal. Making space at the table is necessary. Thanks to my dad, I grew up in a world where girls do anything they want, without waiting to be included or following illogical rules. Blazing trails requires comfort with solitude, a desire to learn and staying curious & remaining excited about unknown outcomes. For me the before, during & after in my life have equal value; each contributing to the on-going narrative of my life!

  • All Tied Up - It's Knot What You Think!

When I was a kid going to the Angus Barn for dinner meant men needed a tie, since then, social etiquette has become more casual. Earlier this week I was in an office for a huge corporation and everyone was in shorts! There is no doubt office attire has changed in the last decade. While casual feels good, wearing a tie is still a way to stand out in some settings. It's always a way to look professional and still show some personality.  The fun part of designing is how tie can weave in logos, text, color and combine additional design elements into a quality piece for that special signature item to reflect your brand. Unify your team. Show appreciation. Gifts for someone special.   Below is a tie we created for the Town of Fuquay-Varina, incorporating both their triangle elements and the town's signature "dash more". Ready to create something memorable for your business or organization?  Ties and scarves are perfect fundraiser or support for a cause - an item to wear in numerous settings!   It's knot as hard as you think to get out of the box with branding!
