Be EXTRAORIDINDARY. A visit to the showroom is "using your head." Why? Compare fabric, fit, profile, structure and feel. Once you've selected the right cap- consider your decoration options. Graphically speaking, embroidery offers numerous ways to mix processes to create dimension and enhance your story. It's National Embroidery Month, making this the perfect time to explore decoration options. Puff, 3D dimensional, chain stitch, sequins, embroidered patches and simulated patch are all options- even mixing processes or upside down font. Yep, it's a new trend. Personally, I don't get the appeal. However, we all like different processes and caps. I do love choice! Ask how to use additional locations, such as the side, back or strap to further shape your story. Even add a patch! When you have fine details, a woven patch is helpful. This process has a similar look to embroidery by keeping the textured look of embroidery. Woven patches and appliqués allow for crisp, clean designs without sacrificing the traditional decoration look. Get the best of both worlds with this popular retail decoration option. . • Revealing Our Tricks of The Trade!

In 1500, the technique trope-l'oeil was applied to a flat surface, painting in a way that appeared dimensional & creating an optical illusion. Woven patches also fool the eye. When a logo has fine details that won't stitch well, we combine print & stitch into one patch for the best result. February is National Embroidery Month. This post captures the back story from 30,000 BC to 2026 and embroidery tips. This post captures all the ways we can decorate a cap to make it extraordinary. Today's post shares a patch process that combines embroidery with print. Take a look at these examples: The sky behind the mountain range, the blue band behind the text, and the biker are printed rather than a stitched. Similarly, the galaxy behind the Jupiter is printed! Here's a fun example from case study collection that uses print & stitch in the same patch. When you're ready to plan a project, our showroom is the place to compare options. Our graphic design skills will produce a patch with tail wagging success! Patches on caps create visually captivating results, at a low cost per impression. Delivering results that get your brand noticed, is all part of our commitment to visionary assurance, united purpose.

  • 30,000 BC To 2026 Is Just A Stitch In Time

30,000 BC to 2026- well, that's a lot of time. Over that immense span of time, fossilized remains that show evidence of hand-stitched clothing, boots and hats. Apparently a frequently requested and classic form of decoration, embroidery, has been the "go to" deco of choice for years. As a process, embroidery involves stitching thread into a garment or accessory, creating a dimensional effect with minimal wear and tear. The durability and beauty of the stitch make this a popular deco method. Embroidery processes vary. For example, "direct to garment", means stitched directly into the fabric. Embroidery can be woven into a patch which is applied to a garment through heat & pressure. Sequin, puff and chain stitch are also ways to embroider. February is National Embroidery Month. Throughout the month we'll explore this popular decoration method in my posts. Follow our social media for videos, the icons are at the bottom of our website home page . Here's a gallery of embroidered imagery: What are some key factors in determining if this is the right method for your next project? We start by reviewing your logo file to determine the number of stitches required for a quality reproduction, that avoids challenges. For example, complex logos with small lettering, details and shading are difficult to recreate. Take care with TM and R marks, those icons often must be omitted or enlarged to work properly. Thread can add bulk to a design. Textured fabrics with pile like fleece and sweaters or hard fabric surfaces often on a cap with structure behind the front panel may stitch differently than softer fabrics. A patch might be a better option. Keep in mind that embroidery isn’t suitable to recreate all logos & artwork. Our design team has the experience to modify your logo for digitizing design. Be assured, we'll keep the integrity of your brand standards intact. Gradients for example, will need to become solid transitions of color rather than the fade captured by print or web art. The next step in the process is digitizing, referring to the file necessary for the machine to know the direction, thread and stitch to use for embroidery. Not all digitizing is the same. Too few stitches in the logo will result in looking incomplete. Too many stitches will significantly increase the price per unit. A logo that is too large will be massive on your team wearing size XS and S sizes. Expertise matters.   Embroidery is one of the most flexible and durable mediums for decoration, however the amount of stitches not only increases cost, but determines the appearance of your logo long term with wash & wear. A logo that stitches directly to the garment, even with changing the tension on the fabric, is likely to pucker over time with a lot of fill/stitches in the logo. Often allowing the fabric to show through your logo will help to reduce the stitch count. To learn more about unique ways to use embroidery simply visit our showroom & design studio for one-on-one time with our award winning team. We'll apply our visionary assurance, united purpose to your next collaboration.

  • A Riveting Narrative, Becomes A Story Worth Sharing

Have you ever been to a place that immediately made you feel at home? For many, that place is the town of Fuquay-Varina. Growing up in this area, I've seen the changes to the town first hand. This quiet small town has become a bustling location of economic development. In fact, the town is one of the fastest growing communities in North Carolina. Despite growth, it's kept the hometown spirit that draws in visitors to become residents and business owners. Before you go, take time to learn how to pronounce its name, so you'll blend in as a local. The modern consumer doesn't consider a quick drive to a nearby municipality - out of the way. Given all the goods and services located in Southwest Wake, it's super convenient to find exactly what I need. In 2016, the town rebranded , with a new logo that captures the union of Fuquay and Varina, by incorporating the hyphen in the logo.   The hyphen between a united Fuquay-Varina is also a genius marketing phrase- "a dash more." What does it mean to be -a dash more? A dash more is a narrative worth sharing, embodies by the people and spirit of the town's employees and residents. Through thoughtful product selection for the brand launch we helped to introduce the story behind the brand and begin to associate the logo with the spirit of the town. As part of the launch, employees received a pull over with a custom dash more zipper pull. We suggested the additional of this element for unity, recognition and to generate excitement. This genius phrase was already part of the brand package before we began working with the launch. Some of our favorite partnership moment with the town since the launch include: The opening of the Hilltop Needmore Community Center Opening Fire Station 4 Introducing brand Educating the public about programs and initiatives that matter A dash more team spirit A store full of products , hosted by the town, to reward their brand enthusiast! We illustrated a custom coloring book for kids of iconic locations around town. Kids can insert themself into the government chamber- as a future town leader. A mayor's challenge coin & employee years of service pins acknowledge the people that make the town a dash more! The creative use of visual imagery and custom product development infuses fun, and clearly communicates their brand messaging to the intended recipients. Together, riveting narratives create amazing stories. Discover for yourself why the Town of Fuquay-Varina  is a dash more. As we prep for our vicennial celebration in 2027, this partnership remains cherished collaboration. We look forward to continuing their story- it's special! Discover their dash more story in this summary . Visionary Assurance, United Purpose at work for our partners!

  • Got A Passion For Pink?

If the hue pink grabs your attention, it's understandable. Pink is an attention-grabbing color. You might say it lifts brand identity. What's the psychology behind this color? Pink is associated with femininity, sensitivity, and tenderness. Think of retail brands that use pink- often those brands are associated with products for women that focus on care, comfort, and compassion.   Lighter shades of pink convey a sense of youthfulness, fun, and playfulness. Did you know the Barbie brand trademarked a specific shade of the hue to represent its likeness? Compassion, care, and trust were the driving factors behind the ride-share service Lyft choosing the color pink for their brand. Lyft uses a slightly brighter shade of pink to communicate innovation and protection throughout their travels.  T-Mobile’s use of a highly visible highlighter pink aligns with their tech-savvy and attention-grabbing brand image. Ensure that the chosen pink resonates with your target audience and complements your overall brand identity.  Efforts in October to focus public attention on the importance of early detection & annual mammograms, celebrating survivors, demonstrating compassion for those battling cancer and fundraising effort for research will all utilize the power of pink! Given the power of pink to grab attention, use of the hue in your graphic design work helps convey messages. Similar to the examples in this post, not all pink hues are the same. The tint or shade of the hue impacts the overall message. Explore options in our design studio to discover the best option for your message, cause or project. • Patch Together A Lifetime of Journeys & Stories

More than ever surfaces have become a medium for YOUR story. By now, you know we love a good story. Think about it- tattoos are not only skin art, but tell a personal story behind the image on the skin. Similarly, a patch has gone beyond simply identifying an individual as part of a company or a first responder. When I was a Girl Scout, a patch shared merit, achievement and experiences through my sash. Patches added to a jacket or bag have the ability to tell YOUR story. Museums & gift shops offer patches as a way to recall your visit. Non-profits band individuals together for a greater good. A patch signifies unity of purpose. Because a patch demonstrates support, patches grow the reach of your voice in visible, yet quiet way, in any setting. The storytelling aspect makes a patch an effective marketing strategy. Take a look at these patches. Some are embroidery, while others are print/stitch, leather and silicone rubberized. Each tells a story. Graphically speaking, a patch is a low cost medium offering a lot of brand real estate for your message. Because patches are an unexpected way to grow the reach of your message, patches fit into our quirky enough to work collection of ideas. We even have options for USA Made patches! Ask us how a patch can become part of a program for your company, school or non-profit. That's our visionary assurance, united purpose at work for your brand.
